I’m writing to you from 6 years in the future and I have some advice for you.
Congratulation on launching Deadman Records. Finally, your dream when you were 14 comes true. You started this from zero when we were 18 and you will learn so much from this. You will get ups and downs. You will visit many places that you have never thinking that you will go there one day. You will involve in a business that you dont understand. You will meet so many people. You will travel from Java to Bali. Singapore to Malaysia. Meet people from other regions. You will have happy doing it. You will meet your idols and share laugh with them.
In 21, you will get everything you want. You will kiss girls more than you ever think before. Your business, everything is good. You have money, you can use it on everything you want.
In 22, you watch Liverpool 2 times. You travel so much. From Saudi to HK. More money in your accounts. You start a startup company. Get fund. High incomes.
23? you will run a clothing company, fall in love again. Friendzone but you love the situation. Watching Metallica 2 times.
But please pay attention.
There will be times when you want to give up and throw everything in. Someone will fuck you up. Ruin your business in 24. And all the things you've ever built will perish in just a month. You fucked up on your study, you ruin your parents plans. Your start up that you built whey you were 22, failed.
It doesnt stop there. You will know how it feels, when the girl that you love doesnt love you back.
No money, you will in debt. Your friends betray you. You will be in a situation where you in an emotionally vulnerable place while in the same time you have to finish your study. You can afford to pay your gas for your car. You will lose your weight, stress, frustration and just sleep 2-4 hours per day.
No, please, don't regret it, because you told your parents that you wouldnt go to medical school.
don't regret it, you reject the opportunities to study in Undip and Polban.
don't regret it, you realize that you chose the wrong subject in college.
don't regret it, you cheat on the girl you love.
don't regret it, you dont study so hard and leave class to do stuffs or something that you love.
Don't regret it that you took this path rather the other one.
Yes, you will fail, but who doesn't? Failing sucks. There's no other way to describe it. But if you are going to fail, make it happen sooner than later.
Do not ever give up, not without a fight.
You took a risk when you left class and just sit there in a coffee shop or your bed room, just trying to figure out things that may not there. It will be worth, trust me.
Please take more risk, take more chances, even when you have to do it all alone. Even when people will tell you that you are fool. Even when people say that enough is enough. Even your parents tell you that they are done with you.
Let your dreams guide your path.
It will make you suffer and makes you cry every night.
But you will bounce back. And things will change.
One day, someone will lift you up, and restore your faith.
Like one of your favourite author’s, Neil Gaiman wrote:
Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.
Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it.
Make your mistakes, next year and forever.
So, good luck.
